Since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision on January 22, 1973, Americans have been at odds over the true nature of the infant in the womb. For Pro-Choice advocates, it is a fetus, which does not have rights until it is outside of the womb. For those who advocate for Pro-Life, it is a baby, a human being, conceived with unalienable rights, as everyone of us has in this country. No matter what side of the argument you are on, the current scandal surrounding Planned Parenthood should be abhorrent to every person. Selling the body parts and organs of unborn children is not just illegal, it is a moral abomination. It reveals the depths of deception and depravity human beings will sink to, in order to make a buck. In light of these videos, it is time to abort federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

Funding the crass behavior of the administration and doctors of this organization reveals the complete lack of integrity in our nation, as the government has used our tax dollars to fund the operating costs for an abortion giant and line the pockets of these perverse people. While the executives of Planned Parenthood claim government funding is not used for abortions, the numbers just do not add up.

To put everything in perspective, we have to look at the numbers. For the 2013 fiscal year, they claimed an income of $1,210,400,000.00 of which $540,600,000.00 came from government health services, grants and reimbursements (PPH Annual Report 2012-2013). According to their 990 form filing with the IRS, in the same fiscal year, they paid out $40,609,798.00 in salaries; which includes the salary of the organization’s president, Cecile Richards. She makes $523,616.00 a year to work 35 hours a week.

Clearly, the numbers indicate the organization could not pay operating costs and salaries and still provide services without government funding. Without your tax dollars, Planned Parenthood would not be able to provide 327,166 abortions a year, while collecting fees for tissue and body part donations. Without government funding, this non-profit organization would not end the 2013 fiscal year with a fund balance of $235,222,337.00. It would seem this non-profit made quite a tidy profit.

It is time for the Congress to defund Planned Parenthood and investigate their methods, to ensure they are staying within the boundaries set by the Hyde Amendment and 42 U.S. Code § 289g–2 – Prohibitions regarding human fetal tissue.

The Hyde Amendment was passed September 30, 1976 and it prevents federal tax dollars from being used to pay for Medicaid abortions. The Hyde Amendment is not a permanent law but a rider, which has been included in the appropriations bill for the Department of Health and Human Services, annually, since 1976.

The federal statute, 42 U.S. Code § 289g–2 – Prohibitions regarding human fetal tissue, makes it unlawful to purchase fetal tissue: “It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly acquire, receive, or otherwise transfer any human fetal tissue for valuable consideration if the transfer affects interstate commerce.”

Without further investigation, it is not clear whether Planned Parenthood has actually done anything illegal in regards to the fetal tissue “donations”, but it is clear they have lost all appearances of moral integrity. Watching these women talk about the sale of organs and limbs from murdered children so cavalierly illustrates their depravity. We no longer value human life. It is so easily disposed of and used for monetary profit.

While we should all be horrified by their tone and attitude, we have to understand, we have all allowed this to happen. Too many people have stuck their heads in the sand and failed to speak for the innocent who have no voice. Mothers are no longer the nurturers of babies, but their executioners.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time God has seen His creation betray Him in this manner. In the Old Testament, God told the children of Israel not to sacrifice their children to Molech: And you shall not let any of your descendants pass through the fire to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord (Leviticus 18:21).

In the past, people sacrificed their babies on the altar of Molech, a god worshipped by the Canaanites and other heathen nations. They would heat up this bronze statue of Molech and place their babies in the outstretched arms of the idol, burning them alive.

God told the children of Israel not to follow the ways of the heathen nations and sacrifice their children to this false, foreign god, but they did not listen. Because of their disobedience, God judged them, sending them into captivity:

And they built the high places of Baal which are in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come into My mind that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.’ “Now therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, ‘It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence’: (Jeremiah 32:35-36).

The children of Israel suffered for sacrificing their children in the fire. Today, our nation is suffering, as women sacrifice their children on the altar of abortion. Just as Israel embraced the heathen god, Molech, the people in the United States have embraced the worldly god of sex. In their selfish desire to indulge in indiscriminate sex, they look to abortion as their convenient form of birth-control.

It is time for Christians to be the light on the hill, the watchman in the tower, and speak God’s truth. We cannot continue to allow our children to be sacrificed at the altar of sex and self-indulgence without crying out the warning. We are heaping God’s judgment upon our own heads.

“So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul” (Ezekiel 33:7-9).
