The “In Your face” Mentality

“…that at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery,
in symphony with all kinds of music, you shall fall down and worship the
gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.”

Daniel 3:5

Nebuchadnezzar’s desire to build a gold statue for the world to worship was a wicked alteration of God’s declaration to him that his kingdom would eventually be crushed. His seeming devotion to God was short lived. Nebuchadnezzar’s heart was wicked. He desired to have an eternal kingdom and had no problem mocking the rue and living God.

God told Nebuchadnezzar that his kingdom would be destroyed. However, Nebuchadnezzar didn’t want to accept it. His pride, arrogance, and desire for power clashed with God’s authority. In the end, who won?

Thought for the Day:
You can’t fight God and win!
