The Bema Seat of
Christ
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each
one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done,
whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10
Known as the Bema seat of Christ, believers will stand in
the presence of God to have their works judged. Everything we have done as a
believer will be evaluated in the fire, and whatever remains will be our
reward.
Your very motives will be examined: why you went to church,
why you read the Bible, and why you helped others. The Bema seat of Christ will
be all about god looking at your heart! How easy it is to be phony in this
life. We put on a “good front” for others. Like the Pharisees, we often like to
impress people and show them how “righteous” we are. We tend to do things based
on the outward appearance, seeking the applause and flattery of man. However,
God looks on the heart. What are you motives for serving God?
Thought for the Day: When we appear before
the Lord at the Bema seat, He is going to expose the secret compartments of our
heart. In other words, the Lord is going to expose the real you and me!
