A Matter of Time
“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through
our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we
should live together with him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10
The rapture can happen at any time. It could happen today,
tomorrow, or a hundred tears from now. There are many discussions as to the
timing of the rapture in terms of last days’ events. Some believe that the
rapture won’t happen until after the tribulation period (post tribulationists) and
many believe that the rapture will happen before the tribulation period
(pre-tribulationists).
When Paul uses the word “wrath” in the above text, he is
referring to the Great Tribulation period. God has not appointed believers to
experience His wrath upon the world which is what the Great Tribulation is,
God’s wrath and fury poured out on an unbelieving and wicked world. Through the
blood of Christ, we are given the spirit of mercy and grace. We are not in the
same category with unbelievers, instead, we are set apart as God’s children
with special privileges and protection!
Thought for the Day: What is important to
realize is That God protects His own!
