Divine Example of
Submission
“but I want to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of
woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” 1 Corinthians 11:3
This scripture passage gives women the divine example of
submission. It states that God the Father is head of Christ; not in essence or
nature but in function. Christ was in nature God, but he did not cling to His
privileges. He humbled Himself and became a servant. This relationship example
of Christ to God is the same one we find in the structure of marriage.
Though the husband and wife are equal in their standing
before God, the woman takes the place of submission to her husband in order for
the family to function in unity. God’s design calls for the wife to respect,
help, and be obedient to her husband. While the husband takes the role of
servant leadership towards his wife. Together, both partners submit to the
Lordship of Christ.
Thought for the Day: If you are not
willing to submit to your husband, You are not willing
to submit to the Lord.
