“Then He shall confirm a covenant with many for one week,
but in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice
and offering. And on the wing of the abominations shall be one
who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is
determined, is poured out on the desolate.”

In the first half of the tribulation, (the first 3 ½ years) the Antichrist will seem to do the impossible -- sign a peace treaty between the World Empire and Israel. This “covenant” will allow the Jewish people to rebuild their temple.

The Antichrist will gain power through deception. Not only will he be a political leader, but he will assume a powerful role in the establishment of a world religion. The false prophet, who will rise out of a prominent religious group, will unite the religions of the world into one authoritative belief. Through all of their power and deception, they will not achieve the “peace” they say they are seeking! Deception never brings about peace. Only the Truth leads us to true inner peace!
