“In My Father’s hose are many mansions; if it were not so,
I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself,
that where I am, there you may be also.”
John 14:2-3 

The new earth is also known as the New Jerusalem. This will be one large city which will descend straight out of heaven. Measuring 1500 miles high, long, and wide, the eternal city will be the new home for all the believers from throughout history.

When Jesus told His disciples that He was going to prepare a place for us, He was speaking of the construction of the New Jerusalem. Though it is a heavenly city, the New Jerusalem will be physical and geographical in nature as well. If you are a believer, there is a special place awaiting you in this new heavenly city! It has been prepared just for you and will surpass anything that you could ever imagine or hope for – you are guaranteed an eternal home with Christ!
