Angry at God
“To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance
of our God; to comfort all who mourn.” Isaiah 61:2
Bad things happen to God’s people. Christians are not immune
from devastating things such as divorce, abuse, betrayal, disease, or false
accusations. And, when these bad things happen to us we hurt. Sometimes, a
by-product of that hurt can be anger, anger with ourselves, others, and yes,
even God!
Confess to God how you really feel. Allow yourself to grieve
and hurt. But, allow God to comfort you during this difficult time. Continue to
hold on to the truth of God’s Word and His love for you. Though this may not be
an easy time for you, you can come through this experience with a deeper sense
of God’s love.
Thought for the Day: Be honest about your
feelings, But trust God’s truth in the midst of them!
