The Writing on the
Wall
“In the same hour the fingers of a man’s hands appeared and wrote
opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace, and the
king saw the part of the hand that wrote.” Daniel 5:5
It has been said that history repeats itself. The saying is
true. Even fashions come back in style. People often divorce their spouses, get
married again, and experience the same problems they had in their previous
marriage. In the above verse, we notice that Belshazzar continued the sins of
his grandfather, Nebuchadnezzar.
Belshazzar didn’t learn his lesson! Because of this, the
Medo-Persian Empire conquered Babylon.
What destroyed the Babylonian empire can also destroy us: pride, worldliness,
immorality, materialism, idolatry, greed and selfishness.
Thought for the Day: We are to learn from
our mistakes. Determine how you are repeating The same sins and then confess
and repent of them.
