Joy in the Midst of
Trial
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials…”
James 1:2
Many years ago, a great earthquake did considerable damage
in San Francisco, California. Many buildings were wrecked by
the quake and others through fires started by the earth tremors. In the midst
of this great tragedy, an elderly grandmother observed sitting in her rocking
chair on her front lawn singing. A passerby asked her how she could be so happy
when the earth was cracking up. Her reply was, “I’m rejoicing to see how my God
can change things.”
What about you? When things are going badly are you
rejoicing in the Lord – waiting to see how He will turn things around?
Thought for the Day: “Joy is not the
absence of trouble But the presence of Christ.” --William Vander
