Compassion and
Suffering
“Humble yourself in the sight of the lord, And He will lift you up.”
James 4:10
Whether 2000 years ago or today, Jesus is reaching out to us
with a heart of love and compassion. Yet, we tend not to trust the Lord in our
day-to-day lives. We fear the future and worry over circumstances. As a pastor,
I have heard a long list of trials, troubles, and sufferings that people
experience. Often, when things don’t go our way, we question God’s love. After
all, if He is a God of compassion, why did He let my child die? If He is a God
of compassion, why did my husband leave me? If He is a God of compassion, why
am I broke?
The lists of questions go on. Have you ever felt this way?
Do you have your own questions? Have you
allowed God to lift you up?
Thought for the Day: God’s compassion is
in our Suffering, deprivations, and trials.
