Is Temptation a Sin?
“For we do not
have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our
weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin” Hebrews 4:15
Webster’s dictionary defines temptation as an enticement
to do something immoral; an invitation that is attractive; and a strong
inclination to do something.
We
are all tempted. Temptation is not
sin. It is when we give in to the
temptation that we sin against God.
Jesus was tempted, just as we are, but He never sinned.
The
Lord is sympathetic and knows the temptations we face. He wants us to come boldly to Him to find
mercy, grace, and strength to resist the temptation.
Thought for the Day: "to be tempted is not to sin. The strongest attacks are made on the strongest forts." - D.L. Moody
