Love and Discipline
“He who spares
his rod hates his son, but he who loves him
disciplines Proverbs 13:24
If God takes the time to chasten us for our own good, then
shouldn’t we as parents take the time to correct and discipline our children
for their good? Webster’s dictionary
defines discipline as a “training that develops self-control, efficiency, and
good moral conduct.”
God wants us to correct our children. When they do something wrong, we need to sit
down with them and explain why it is wrong.
We need to point out what the Scriptures say regarding the matter. And we need to punish in a fair and godly
manner. As parents we need to understand
that discipline is an act of love.
Thought for the Day:
Discipline involves
admonition, Chastening/punishment, and a lot of love!
