Marriage: An Intimate
Bond
When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be
charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring
happiness to his wife whom he has taken.” Deuteronomy 24:5
Marriage is an intimate bond between male and female. In the
above verse, when a man got married, he wasn’t to go to war or be charged with
any business for his first year of marriage. He was to stay home and form a
bond with his wife what would make them inseparable throughout their lifetime.
The intimacy that God designed in marriage is built on
Christ, being obedient to His Word and loving one another as He commands.
Intimacy includes sexual love, friendship, companionship, and trust. You are
partners in life, and though you can be opposed in you likes and dislikes, you
come together in unity under the Lord.
Thought for the Day: Your marriage is only
as good as your Relationship with
God.
