A Matter of Priority
“Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers
from death.” Proverbs 11:4
Money needs to be put in its
proper place. We need to realize that the true source of all our income is the
Lord. Job recognizes this when he found himself stripped of all of his
possessions. Did he curse God and die, like his wife wanted him to do? No, Job
had his priorities in order. God came first, and that is why Job was able to
say, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The
Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job
1:21)
The most important thing in life
is our relationship with God. It is far better to be poor and be a kind,
loving, sweet person, than to have all the money in the world and be ruthless,
hateful, and unforgiving.
Thought for the Day: Satan loves to tempt
believers with greed because It can draw us away
from the Lord, Or keep us away from
Him completely.
