Revealed by the fire
“Each one’s work will become clear; for the day will declare it,
because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of
what sort it is.”
1 Corinthians 3:13
What we do in this life will either bring reward in heaven or
be burned up! That should make us pause and look at our priorities. Are you
working and worrying about things that will be burned up in the Day of
Judgment? Or, are you spending time seeking to please God in everything you do
and say and looking forward to that eternal reward?
A young man once studied violin under a world-renowned
master. Eventually the time came for his first recital. Though the crowd
cheered after each song, the young man looked unhappy. After he finished, he
looked into the crowd and saw his master smiling and nodding approvingly.
Immediately the young man was happy! The applause of the crowd meant nothing to
him – it was the approval of his master that they young man sought. So too, as
Christians, we must do everything to please our Master and find his approval!
Are you seeking the Lord’s approval in al areas of your life, or are you living
to please your friends, family, and co-workers?
Thought for the Day: Let the task be the
reward.
