The Problem of Pride
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambitions or conceit, but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” Philippians 2:3
What is pride? Webster Dictionary describes it as an overly
high opinion of oneself; or haughtiness and arrogance. Have you ever been
around a very prideful person? They are not easy to get along with. A prideful
person is consumed with “self.” Life revolves around them. This kind of person
is critical, looking down on other people while elevating themselves. In all, a
prideful person talks about themselves, promotes themselves, lifts themselves
up, makes themselves better than others, and holds a false image of themselves.
We need to understand the seriousness of this sin. Pride
destroys others and us.
Thought for the Day: The prideful person
spends all their time And energy of
themselves.
