Discipline Ourselves
“But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, Lest, when I have preached to
others, I myself should become disqualified.”
1 Corinthians 9:27
We need to discipline ourselves to run the race with
endurance. This means disciplining ourselves to start each day in prayer and in
God’s Word; to stay in fellowship with other Christians; to share the Gospel
with the lost; and to love God and one another. We are not running in the race
for a vain, earthly crown – but for an eternal reward, one that will not perish
or burn up. Our commitment to the Lord needs to be strong and out of love. We
cannot stay on the course and obtain eternal rewards if we are living a life of
compromise. Our Christian walk requires commitment!
It is time to wake up to reality. God is on the throne,
heaven is real, and hell is real. In what areas does your life need more
discipline?
Thought for the Day: All Christians will
stand in the presence of God At the Bema Seat of
Judgement.
