Why does God put such importance on praying for others? In the Old Testament two angels and the Lord approached Abraham and he asked them to stay for supper. It was when the heavenly entourage was ready to go that Abraham found out why they were there – they were going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because of the cries of evil that had ascended up to God.

Knowing God’s judgment was coming; Abraham began to intercede on behalf of the people in Sodom and Gomorrah. Prayer is essential in turning the heart of an unbeliever towards the Lord.
