The Master Deceiver
“When he speaks a
lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and
the father of it.” John 8:44
The first instance of lying in the bible is found in the
third chapter of Genesis. Here we see Satan tempting Eve by casting doubt on
the Word of God in Eve’s mind. To this day, Satan uses this kind of deception
to tempt us to doubt the Word of God. And more than that, Satan outright lied
to Eve by contradicting God’s Word (Genesis 3:4).
Jesus called Satan the father of lies. The cause of lying is
found in his character. Everything that comes out of the mouth of our enemy is
a lie, and it’s the biggest weapon he wields against believers. What can set
you free from Satan’s lies?
Though for the Day: Satan is the master
deceiver and he is always Appealing to our
flesh to do the same thing – lie.
