Remaining Faithful
“But if not, let it
be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor
will we worship the gold image which you have set
up.” Daniel 3:18
In the above verse, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego are
pressured to deny God, but they choose to be faithful to Him no matter the
outcome. Though they trusted God to deliver them, they were determined to
remain faithful regardless of the consequences. Why were Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-Nego so confident? They new that it was more important to follow God and
have eternal life than to live and betray God.
Knowing that the furnace could never kill their souls, the
three young Jewish men held onto their faith and remained strong in the midst
of their circumstances.
Thought for the Day:
Whatever
circumstances you are experiencing right now, know that God can deliver you,
but purpose to be faithful to serve God whether he intervenes on your behalf or
not.
