Looking Over the Fence
“Therefore humble
yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7
A Christian man walking with John Wesley one day was
rehearsing his many troubles, saying that he did not know what to do. As they
approached a stone fence, over which a cow was looking, Wesley asked, “why is
that cow looking over the wall? I’ll
tell you – because he can’t look through it! That is what you must do with your
troubles – look over them.”
When we look at our problems, we get discouraged and
confused. Instead, we need to look over them to the other side. God is in our
problems – as we look at him, our troubles diminish.
Thought for the Day: Nothing lasts forever,
not even your troubles!
