A Compassionate Heart
“But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious,
longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.” Psalm 86:15
Compassion and love go hand in hand. A compassionate heart
puts others first, helps others grow, forgives, and encourages. Jesus Christ
was a living example of compassion. No matter what the person’s background,
ethnicity, or whether they were rich or poor, the Lord forgave, met needs,
solved problems, and healed wounds.
As a Christian, the Lord wants to love people through us. We
need to have the heart of the Lord towards people- helping them in their
troubles, encouraging them in their despair, and sharing our friendship with
them in their loneliness.
Thought for the Day: Like a widow, people
look through us to see Jesus Christ.
