Chile

Chile is an elongated and narrow country situated along the Western coast of the southern cone of South America between the highest region of the Andes Mountain range and the Pacific Ocean.

Its form is unique; one of the longest countries in the world with 4,300 km in longitude but also one of the most narrow, with an average width of 18 km. It is bordered by 3 countries, in the north with Peru, in the northeast Bolivia, to the east Argentina and to the south it includes the Chilean Antarctic Territory.

The population of Chile supersedes 16 million compared to the actual population of Los Angeles, California. It is principally made of immigrants of European origin and varied native indigenous communities. Approximately 90% of the population is of the Catholic faith; their official language is Spanish.

The richness of the landscapes of Chile begin in the north with the expansive Atacama, the most dry and golden desert in the world, passing through the majestic snow capped Andes Mountains visited by winter sport enthusiasts worldwide; a mountain range   finally converting into a beautiful composition of numerous islands and a spectacular scenery of volcanoes in the lake zone, until it crosses the exotic Patagonia at the “end of the world” and door to the grandiose Antarctic where the “March of the Penguins” was filmed.
