1. I see links to Real audio and video files on the web site, now what do I do?
Here are the steps you should go through to be able to listen/watch the services:
- Get the FREE RealOne Player:
Click the button (you will be taken to Real Networks website). After clicking, click the text on the upper right side of the Real Networks Web site saying, "Download the Free RealOne Player". Click on the text on the right "Download FREE Real Player." This will download the free version of the Real Player. If you are running Windows (XP, 2000, 98, 95, etc.) say yes to the popup and you will start downloading the player to your hard drive. If you are running a different operating system (Macintosh, UNIX, etc.), you will need to answer no if there is a popup, and click the link near the bottom of the page corresponding to the operating system you are running. When the download is complete, the installer should automatically pop up. Follow the instructions that it gives you to finish the install process..
- Play a Calvary Chapel Golden Springs Message:
After you have installed the software, click on one of the links to listen to or watch the service. If you are new to using the player, try clicking on the audio link first to see if it comes up. The correct format (Real, Low or High Bandwidth) for you will depend on the speed of your Internet connection.
If you still have problems, look through the player documentation carefully.
2. Why can't I view "High Bandwidth" files with my 56k modem?
If you have a 28.8, 33.6, or 56k modem (dial-up) you may choose any of the formats (Real Audio, Real Low Bandwidth) except for the "High Bandwidth" formats. These formats are for people with high speed connections like:
- High speed T1 or T3 connection at their office
- Cable Modem
- Satellite Internet
- ISDN phone line (special digital phone line)
- DSL phone line (special digital phone line)
3. How do I listen to an archived event (radio, crusade or church)?
You can listen to Calvary Chapel Golden Springs’ live Internet Broadcast if you go to the Web site www.calvarygs.org and from the home page of the website, in the right side of the site you will see a gold box called Weekly Services. The live service is the Next service and will be highlighted when it is live.

4. Is there any way to hear Raul Ries on the radio?
Yes, Raul Ries can be heard on the Somebody Loves You Radio show. You can check the radio station listing in the Somebody Loves You Radio section of our site by clicking here.
Also; you can call Somebody Loves You Radio at 1-800-634-9165 and request a station listing be sent to you.
In addition, all Sunday morning, evening, and Wednesday evening services at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs are available at the Online Store, www.calvarygs.org/store/.
5. How do I listen through a firewall?
If you have a firewall on your computer (most major businesses and schools have them), you must use the "Smart Networking Feature" in Real Player 10.5.
To do this, in your Real Player 10.5, go to Tools and then-Preferences. On the left side column, click on Network-Transports and you will see new settings on the right side. Then click on PNA Settings. A new window will open; click the box for “Attempt to use HTTP for all content.” Click OK, and now try clicking on one of the Real Audio/Video links on the Web. It should work!
FYI: Here is the technical explanation for the problem. Real Audio/Video streams through port 7070 which is commonly blocked by firewalls and proxy servers. We are committed to providing audio and video content in all forms possible, so currently we have a server in place that gives us the capability to stream over port 80 via HTTP, which means, if you are behind a firewall or proxy, you can use the port the firewall and proxy leaves open, port 80, to get the Real Audio/Video content.
6. Does RealAudio player work on WebTV?
[From www.real.com] WebTV has created a special version of the RealAudio Player, and it is bundled into their software updates. The most current version of WebTV is version 1.3 The Player they have included in this software equates to the RealAudio Player version 3.0.
Note that an earlier version of WebTV had a version of the RealAudio Player that would not play RA files served by the RealServer version 4.0. This problem was fixed in the version 1.3 release of WebTV. We recommend that you update the WebTV software if you cannot play RA files from a number of Real Audio sites. To keep up with Player updates for WebTV, continue to upgrade the WebTV software.
7. What does "getting Net congestion and stopping of broadcast" mean?
If you are experiencing Net congestion or your RealPlayer is stopping during a live or archived broadcast, it means your RealPlayer is unable to get the information fast enough from Calvary Chapel Golden Springs Online. Most of the time this means your Internet service provider is experiencing heavy traffic, or when connecting to the Internet your modem did not achieve an optimal connection. Here are some things that may help solve this problem:
- Make sure you are clicking on a broadcast that is supported with your modem.
- 14.4k (19,200) modems can only pick the Real audio broadcast
- 28.8, 33.6, 56k modems can pick either the Real audio, or a "Low Bandwidth" video broadcast
- DSL, cable modems, Single or Dual ISDN modems, T1's, T3's, and satellite modems can choose any of the formats including Real audio, Real "Low Bandwidth", or Real "High Bandwidth".
- Try disconnecting (hang up) from your Internet Service Provider, and then dial back up again to try to establish a higher speed and cleaner connection.
- If your RealPlayer stops, try clicking on the link again. It may have been a temporary glitch.
- If all else fails, try waiting. If your Internet Service Provider is down or experiencing heavy traffic, please come back at another time to watch the broadcast.
8. Are there any crusades coming to our area and if not how can I attend over the Internet?
To see the current crusade schedule go to the Somebody Loves You Crusade Website by clicking here.
Once there, click on the Upcoming button and you can view all the Crusades that are scheduled for the current year and any tentative crusades that may happen. Also, the crusade schedule is updated frequently so check back from time to time. If the schedule of Crusades does not have your area listed or you are unable to attend or maybe you have a friend somewhere else in the country that you think should hear the Gospel, you can attend via the Internet.
We broadcast every night of the Crusade LIVE on the Internet. Using RealPlayer to send out both audio and video enables you to tune in using Real Player which you can download free from www.real.com. We also archive the Crusades shortly after the event so if you are not able to view it LIVE, you can still watch later.
9. Nothing here seems to help, where can I get additional information?
If nothing on this Frequently Asked Questions page has helped you can also reference The Real Networks Support Site for additional information.
