Our desire is to see our youth grow in the love and knowledge of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ.
“Arise, shine; for your light has come!
And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the LORD will Arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Isaiah 60:1-3

Pastor Raul’s vision is found in Acts 1:8 and is supported by the compassion of Jesus Christ shown in Mathew 9:35-38.
Acts 1:8 – 8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Matthew 9:35-38 – 35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
To implement this vision into a Jr. High aged, young Christian context, perspective, and application.
The teaching of God’s Word is foundational to this vision which is why UPRISE teaches systematically through the bible Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights as model by Pastor Raul in the sanctuary during adult bible studies.
To capture the preaching portion of the call and ministry of Jesus Christ you will notice an evangelical tone displayed Sunday mornings and during our outreach and special events. Wednesday nights is our time of ‘teaching through the bible’.
Building on top of this foundation (Eph 2:20-22), we find the worship of God and the exercising of spiritual gifts through the following; prayer, tithes and offering, and music as the next core layers of this vision.
Lastly, and closely following these layers, UPRISE exists to disciple young Christians through small groups and on an individual basis. You’ll notice, male leaders disciple the boys only and the female leaders disciple the girls only.
To support and reinforce the biblical instruction which takes place by the parents (or guardians) at home.
In other words, our goal and function is to fully come alongside, as a helper, a parent’s God given responsibility and blessing taught in Deuteronomy 6:6-9; and to “Train up a child in the way he should go . . .” Proverbs 22:6. It’s a partnership based on the Word of God.
The heart of the UPRISE ministry is to help bridge the gap, if one exists, between what is taught at home and the correct biblical world view.
