2 Peter 1:21, …for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:16, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God…The Bible originated in the mind of God. Stop and contemplate that. As you read the Bible, you are literally “thinking God’s thoughts after Him.” This makes it unique among all books—and the most valuable of all the treasures on earth! Peter writes that prophecy never came by the will of man and holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Let me give you just a few thoughts. The Bible is a collection of 66 documents, written by 40 different individuals divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit, over 1500 years, across 3 continents; covering fully verified history, geography, biology, astronomy, and archaeology; beginning in Genesis and seamlessly arriving in Revelation with Jesus Christ as its central purposed theme. God has left absolutely no room for doubt as to whether or not this is His written Word. His signature runs all through it. Did you know one third of the Bible is prophecy? The Bible contains over 1,800 predictions, concerning more than 700 separate subjects, found in over 8,300 verses. Conservatively, Jesus fulfilled at least 300 prophecies in His earthly ministry. We read that Christ died for our sins, …according to the Scriptures. He was buried, and He rose again the third day …according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). The Bible is real. Born in a one-room log cabin at Sinking Spring Farm in Kentucky, Abraham Lincoln learned to read by candlelight—with the Bible in his hands. As our 16th President, he would fondly refer to it as “the best gift God has given to man.”
